The famous british novelist Agatha Christie (1890-1976) was a specialist writing thrillers and romantic novels. She sold almost four thousand millions copies that were translated into many languages.
Christie in her first trip to the Canary Islands visited Tenerife and a few years later , she travelled to Las Palmas de G.C that became into her favourite place to spend her holidays. The capital city mentionted before, was an inspiration for some of her novels, which development takes place in G.C.
Another curiosity was that she stayed with her daugther and her secretary at Metropol Hotel, situated in the capital of G.C island , where she spent a lot of time observing the summer afternoon and writing some of “Hercules Poirot Adventures”.
Finally, some people commented that they saw Agatha Christie on her favourite beaches ( Las Canteras and Las Alcaravaneras) having “Long swim” and also, they said that she was one of the first who practised surf in the Canarian shores, exactly in the city beach , Las Canteras.
